2022 Unified Carrier Registration: What You Need To Know

The 2022 renewal season is here! The October 1 through December 31 period, also known as the 4th Quarter, is the time allowed by most states for motor carriers, brokers and freight forwarders to renew various permits, licenses, and or registrations. The primary registrations due in the Fourth Quarter include the 2022 Unified Carrier Registration (UCR), IFTA, NYHUT and NM WDT permits.

Each year our customers get bombarded with misleading and inaccurate emails, texts, letters, phone calls and internet solicitations from third-party companies requesting (and demanding) your information to complete these various state forms. With the barrage from all these inquires, it can be difficult to know what is truly required of your company.

At Logistec/TTS, our goal is to make you aware of your yearly renewal registration requirements and help you maintain compliance with transparent, knowledgeable, and friendly service.

We can also assist you with several of the renewal registrations listed below as well as provide helpful information to you about the other industry requirements. In addition, as a current Logistec/TTS Process Service client, you will receive your annual Process Service Renewal bill from us next month. Your Process Service program is an important part of your Federal Interstate Authority (MC &USDOT record) and we will address updates to those records at that time.

4Q Registrations Due

• 2022 UCR Notice and Application
• 2022 NM WDT Permits – Required if over 26,000 lbs.
• 2022 IFTA License Renewal and Decal Orders - Required if over 26,000 lbs. or 3 or more axles
• NYHUT Renewals - Required for vehicles over 18,000 lbs. (24th Series, will be good for new 3-year cycle)

In addition, there are some state registrations that renew each year based on when you obtained them. Make sure to review the following so you know when your registration expires:

• IRP Registration – Apportion plate (required if over 26,000 lbs or 3 or more axles)
• Intrastate Authority Certificate/Permit (required to operate within borders of single state only)
• Base State License Plate
