Owner Uses Trucking Business to Traffic Drugs into Florida

on Monday, 22 August 2016.

copcarPeter Truong, president of P&T Transportation, is in some real big trouble after federal agents arrested him and several accomplices for allegedly transporting illegal drugs using his trucks. The 39 year old Orlando man supposedly transported thousands of pounds of marijuana and cocaine mixed in with legitimate loads to avoid detection. Truong and his associates also conspired to traffic more than 100 grams of the prescription opioid, oxycodone with intentions to sell.

Sheriff Jerry Demings of Orange County stated in a press conference on Tuesday that, “this organization is suspected of importing hundreds of pounds of cannabis each year, multiple kilos of cocaine per month, and were conspiring to bring opioids into Central Florida to sell on our streets.” Truong and others will be charged under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

Nine others have been charged, including 38 year old, Vinh Thien Chung. Agents are still searching for 31 year old Beatriz Aguiar, who is possibly in New York, for conspiring with Truong and Chung to traffic opioids.

John Roman, state prosecutor for Florida said, “If you are going to be a drug trafficker to make money so you can have multiple residences, multiple cars, because you go to the clubs at night and you want to sit in the VIP section, we are going to identify you, and these law enforcement agents are going to arrest you. The day is going to come when you ... are going to be facing me and you're not going to be wearing your club clothes, you're going to be wearing an orange jumpsuit.”
