Form 2290 Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) Status Update

The Internal Revenue Service has issued a status update for Form 2290 Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT). Section 4481 of the IRS imposes a tax on the use of heavy highway vehicles.  Under current law, this tax is set to expire after September 30, 2011, unless Congress extends the tax.  For more information regarding the status update, please view the IRS announcement at http://bit.ly/mI0QGC.
