HVUT Extension Reminder

Congress has extended the federal highway excise taxes, the revenues from which feed the federal highway trust fund but which expire periodically unless continued by Congress.  Please note that although the life of the federal heavy vehicle use tax was extended through September 2013, this does not mean carriers can skip paying the HVUT in 2012.  Payments are due by August 31, 2012, as usual.
