Improve Compliance with the FMCSA Portal

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is recommending companies to logon to the FMCSA Portal to review their information and ensure that they are in compliance with federal regulations and safety mandates. Your organization may have received a letter urging you to log into the portal to address safety and compliance problems.

You can access the FMCSA Portal by clicking here, or request Logistec/TTS to manage your account on your behalf. Simply provide us with your information to establish the account, and we will take care of the rest. Account setup requires:

  • Name of company contact
  • U.S. DOT Number

If you would prefer to manage your company’s account, here are the steps for accessing the FMCSA Portal. To create your FMCSA Portal account:

  1. Go here, or click the account registration link on the FMCSA Portal page at https://portal.fmcsa.dot.gov/login.
  2. Choose “Company Employee or an Associate of a Company,” and click “Next”
  3. Input your U.S. DOT Number, and click “Lookup”
  4. Choose “Company Official” from the Available Roles box, and select “Add Role”
  5. Click “Next”
  6. Follow the instructions on screen to finalize your registration.

From your account, you will be able to review a summary of your Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Category (BASIC) data by selecting the BASICs Safety Measurement System (SMS) located in the Company Information box. For a complete look at your safety report, go to the SMS webpage via the A&I (SMS) link found in the Available FMCSA Systems box, located on the top left corner of your screen.
