Kentucky Emergency Exemption

Effective today, due to widespread electrical outages in the states bordering the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Kentucky will refrain from enforcing the following requirements on emergency utility vehicles and their operators:

1) eliminate and exempt the hours of service requirements;
2) waive stopping at weigh stations;
3) exempt permit fees for overweight/overdimensional vehicles; and
4) waive IRP Registration Requirements

The declaration of emergency will remain in effect until 12:01 AM EDT, July 31, 2011.
