New Law May Make EOBR's a Requirement
All carriers with severe hours-of-service violations will be forced to install EOBR's (electronic onboard recorders) in their vehicles. The FMCSA hopes to make the rule effective by June 4, 2012, which should allow carriers plenty of time to straighten up their records. The FMCSA predicts that about 5,700 interstate carriers will be forced to install the device.
