UIIA Equipment Providers Beware!

The FMCSA has ruled that starting December 2009, Intermodal Equipment providers must maintain proper USDOT safety specs and inspections on their chasis. Intermodal Equipment providers will be now be required to obtain their own USDOT number, and their equipment must be marked with a proper USDOT number by December 2010. The FMCSA is no longer requiring motor carriers that haul Intermodal Equipment to be responsible for the condition of the equipment.
