IRS Gives Truckers Three-Month Extension; Highway Use Tax Return Due Nov. 30

The IRS today advised truckers and other owners of heavy highway vehicles that their next federal highway use tax return, usually due Aug. 31, will instead be due on Nov. 30, 2011.

FMCSA Site Down - MC and DOT numbers not being issued

The FMCSA has been experiencing technical difficulties with its website since July 24, 2011. As a result no new MC numbers or USDOT numbers have been issued, and no updates to existing registrations can be implemented.

FMCSA 7/27/11 Update - MC Numbers Now Being Issued

on Wednesday, 27 July 2011.

The FMCSA is now issuing MC numbers and allowing for updates to authority records. From July 24 to July 26, 2011, the FMCSA was not able to issue new MC #'s or allow for authority updates due to "technical issues", however Logistec/TTS has just learned this problem is now corrected.
